World Maritime Day was established by the International Maritime Organisation to recognize the importance of shipping safety, maritime security and the maritime environment and not to be forgotten the seafarers.
The theme in 2019 is ‘Empowering Women in the Maritime Community’
This free and family friendly event will feature exhibitor booths and displays, water demonstrations,musical performances with a maritime flair, speakers, public harbour tours, food carts, kids activities.
Come and learn and celebrate and drop by and say hello at the Mission to Seafarers booth at Canada Place.
Consider the Cycle for Seafarers on Sat August 22nd 2020 or support someone who will cycle.
The Rev Peter Chaplain to the seafarers will be there to greet you chocolate in hand.
