Seafarers remain at sea for most of their contracts that are typically from 3-10 months away from home and family working to support them.
They face many challenges other than the separation and for that reason the Mission to Seafarers is there to be a support them when they need it.
For seafarers who come to Vancouver at Christmas be they Christian or not we like to bring them some joy and in doing so show our gratitude for the service they give us all in transporting the goods we need and sustaining jobs on shore and to acknowledge the challenges they face.
It is only possible with your support and so either as an individual or a group such as parish we are grateful for donations towards the Christmas at Sea Appeal which enables each seafarer in Vancouver over the Christmas period to receive a gift bag.
As to what you can donate to go into the gift bags the list of items is on this website under 'Donate'. We also gratefully receive monetary donations with which we will purchase items where there is a shortfall.
The deadline for items is Monday 8th December 2025.
If you have questions do give us a shout at m2svancouver@gmail.com or 604 253 4421.
Your support is appreciated.
There will be a follow up report on this site as to how Christmas at Sea 2025 went with pictures.
