IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR RIDERS ( As OF MAY 29th 2026)

Hello      Riders/ Participants.  

 Thank you for your support.

There are a few important things to tell you regarding the Cycling for Seafarers event on Saturday 19th September 2026

PARKING

  • TYMAC LAUNCH lot – They are a few free spaces, PLEASE DON’ T BLOCK THE BINS or ANY EQUIPMENT
  • VANCOUVER PORT lot near the Sea Bus Terminal – See the VFPA Parking map below.
  • DP World – East of the Mission. There will be 10 -15 free spaces available. The barrier will be up and there is a pedestrian gate see the picture below. Please do not park in EV spaces or impinge on the Longshore workers parking. See Parking Maps below
  • Park at your office building or take transit and cycle to the Mission.
  • There is unfortunately NO PARKING AT THE MISSION

PORT SECURUTY GATES: (Please say you are going to the Mission to Seafarers for the Cycle for Seafarers)

They accept

  • Port Pass
  • Government Issued photo ID – Driver’s license.

START TIMES: (Please register inside upon your arrival, pick up your name tag with Mission tel # to attach to your bike and sign the waiver if you did not so at registration).

    • 100KM-7am 
    • 40KM-9am

RIDE WITH GPS

            • Download the RWGPS app from the Play Store or APP store onto your Phone.
            • Sign up for the FREE account.
            • Join the Cycling for Seafarers club - See Mission’s web page: https://www.flyingangel.ca/pages/routes-and-info
            • Click on the map URL you wish to ride and download for Offline use. Navigate – Turn up your volume for voice navigation.
            • A few paper maps and cue sheets will be available at the Mission at registration.

ROUTE MAPS

  • Have the route downloaded onto your phone – Find it at Ride with GPS or on the Mission website flyingangel.ca

THERE ARE NO MARKERS ON THE ROUTE.

RESTSTOPS

  • There will be healthy snacks and washrooms available at each stop.

100kms- Riverview, Dyke Road, Spanish Banks

40kms- Riverview, Spanish Banks

BE PREPARED

  • Make sure your bike is ready to ride.
  • Tires are inflated
  • Mirrors
  • Spare tubes
  • Pump (One available at the Mission)
  • Water bottle
  • Helmet
  • Dress for the weather, comfort and safety.

BBQ (Food available 11:30/12:00)

  • Please stay for the BBQ with meat and non-meat options. 
  • Excellent Prizes which be drawn for individuals not teams or corporations who raise $100 or more.
  • A Trophy will be presented to  the Team that raises the most $.
