MIND THE GAP
On the London Underground as you get on or off you hear the words ‘Mind the Gap’.
We in 2025 live in a world of gaps where people are increasingly isolated from one another, discriminated against, difference is feared, there is a them and us mentality.
There are all over the world, efforts to bridge the gap and of course at Christmas we celebrate God’s abundant love in bridging not just a gap but a chasm in Jesus ‘God with us’ and what he would go on to do on the cross.
Jesus calls on each of us to follow his example, reminding us of what can be achieved when we work together, judge less and embrace more.
There are ways each of us can bridge the gap as I was reminded on the cover of a recent addition of the FAN’ Flying Angel News’ with the biggest smiles you have ever seen one by the Houston MTS Chaplain and the other a Seafarer he was talking to on a ship visit.
Small gestures can make ‘the’ world of difference.
A smile; a cry, a reassuring arm, a nod, a listening ear can be what is needed to bridge the gap.
I for one can smile at that.
A blessed and gap filled Christmas to you and all everywhere.
