On Saturday 26th August 2023 about 70 riders set out to complete 40,60 and 100kms as they preferred in support of the Seafarers gathering at the Waterfront Seafarers Centre with sunny skies overhead.

Rest Stops provided by SAAM Towage, OCEAN Group and the PPA (Pacific Pilotage Authority) provided a well earned rest with refreshments for riders.

For the Committee of Don MacInnes,Bonnie Gee,Gordon Yahn,Brian Young,Dhaval Shah, Peter Byland , Nathan Boutilier and Peter Smyth to whom much thanks is due it was culmination of planning.

The set up, take down , BBQ and registration was made possible by members of St Michaels Anglican Multicultural Church in Vancouver  and staff at the Mission and Jim Lawson. The very able and timely photographer was Jane McIvor.  Thanks to all of you.

Thanks to staff at the BC Chamber of Shipping for helping with the BBQ and the presentation of the prizes.

On the riders return they were able to join together for food and fellowship.

To those who gifted prizes, PPA, Harbour Cruises,Helijet,Suncor and Seaspan we express our gratitude and congratulations to the winners.

The Team Fundraising trophy was won and lifted high this year by Paul Hilder from CMC (The Council of Marine Carriers).

To all our sponsors be you individuals who raised $5 or $1000's and to the corporate donors such as but not limited to the Port of Vancouver, DP World,Ocean Group,BC Chamber of Shipping, Saam Towage,Council of Marine Carriers, Westshore Terminals,BC Coast Pilots we offer our sincere gratitude.

As the riders headed off home and the tables were cleared and chairs stacked it was a time to reflect on what a great event and to think of doing it all again next year with the hope of more riders to make it another fun and successful day.

THANKS EVERYONE
