The Reverend Nick Parker, Senior Port Chaplain, Vancouver |
The Head of the Mission, the Senior Port Chaplain liaises with the Board of Directors and the Anglican Diocese of New Westminster. The Reverend Nick Parker took up his position at the Mission on 1st February 2007. As Senior Port Chaplain Nick also heads up the Ecumenical Team of harbour chaplains who all minister to the needs spiritual and temporal of
visiting sailors. Harbour chaplains at the Mission all visit ships arriving in Vancouver and at Deltaport, and also at Fraser Port. The Senior Port Chaplain represents the Mission to the Port and local Marine Industry and Community, to our support Parishes, to our international Head Office in London England, and to the visiting seafarers through the extensive services ministered by the Mission to Seafarers at both our branches. Nick is married to Sandi and has four teenaged children. He is an avid sailor, cyclist, musician and active sportsman.

As Manager, Bernard is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Mission operations at both our branches, and oversees the office, administration, staff & volunteers, financial controls and Mission facilities, plus the various communication systems. He is involved in marketing and public relations, event planning and networking, and in spreading publicity for the great
hospitality service provided by our two Mission Clubs. Having grown up in a vibrant shipping and fishing environment, Bernard thoroughly enjoys working and being involved in the marine and port community.
For recreation he loves cruise-sailing his yacht, and faster catamaran sailing when the wind's up. He also enjoys reading widely, world travel, history, and Salsa dancing. Bernard enthuses on walking & hiking, and has recently happily switched from skiing to snowboarding. |
Sandhya Conway, Evening Supervisor, Vancouver |
The wonderful warm welcoming face that smiles at you as you enter the Mission in the evening belongs to Sandhya. She is “the face of the Mission” to many seafarers, and the cornerstone of our hospitality service. She also manages the shop, and is responsible for the shop merchandise selection & ordering, pricing and
additional accounting duties. |
Robert (Bob) Conway, Van Driver/Janitor, Vancouver |
Bob is Sandhya’s husband and is our quiet and dependable driver of the Mission van. He sets out in the evenings to pick up the seafarers from their ships and bring them back to the Mission, plus conveying them safely back to their ships at the end of the evening. Bob is our longest -serving employee at the Mission. |
Jojie Enriquez, Weekend Receptionist, Vancouver |
Jojie works on the weekends and is responsible for reception and assisting seafarers. Her warm and caring welcoming is appreciated by our many visiting seafarers. With Tagalog as her first language, Jojie's calm and friendly demeanour is especially well received by our Philippine visitors. Her contribution to the great hospitality service provided at the Mission is enormous. |
Custodian: Brent Morgan, Vancouver
Brent comes to the Mission with much expertise in building services. He is familiar with charitable organisations, their functioning and specific requirements.
Brent is a very thorough, personable and frendly individual, and is a great addition to the Mission support team.

Our dependable driver on the weekends for the seafarers, Amol is also greatly appreciated for his courteous and reliable manner in serving our many visitors. Amol is also valued for the care and all the contribution he makes to the efficient running of the Mission on the weekend shifts. |
Andrea Parker, Administration Assistant, Vancouver
Andrea cheerfully works Mondays through Fridays at our Vancouver Waterfront Reception, greeting and assisting seafarers, volunteers and visitors. She also performs most administrative office duties, including salaries, telephone, mail, receipts, invoice processing & payments, plus secretarial duties. Andrea also supervises our Staffing shift schedules for the Roberts Bank operation, and she is a valuable & spirited team member for all our Mission event organising and fund-raising activities.
Kim Willox, Evening Receptionist, Roberts Bank |
Kim very capably runs the Flying Angel Club in Roberts Bank Sundays & Wednesdays, along with help from our volunteers. She manages the shop and takes care of the seafarers, assisting with international telephone cards, computor communication access, and keeping the coffee freshly brewed . She is also responsible for the weekly sales control, inventory ordering, visitor statistic summary reports, and communication with our main office. Her day starts at 5pm. and ends at 11pm. as she closes the doors. Kim also oversees the rest of the Staff at Roberts Bank, ensuring that procedures, reports and service are all kept at high standards. |
Sharon Grove, Part-time Receptionist, Roberts Bank |
Sharon works relief shifts at Roberts Bank when required, and is then responsible for reception and assisting the seafarers. She plays an important and valued role in training and instructing new staff and volunteers on the systems used at Roberts Bank, and is an active and effective PR person for the Mission at many church events. |
Fernando Da Cruz , Weekend Receptionist, Roberts Bank Fernando works on Saturday evenings and is responsible for reception, running the shop and assisting the seafarers with his courteous and helpful service. His quietly reliable and hospitable, friendly manner adds to the warm reception and hospitality the many visiting seafarers enjoy at Roberts Bank.
Gavin Willox , Evening Receptionist, Roberts Bank Newly joined Gavin works a weekday evening and he is also responsible for reception, running the shop and cheerfully assisting the seafarers. Gavin has a wonderful and sincere empathy for anyone requiring assistance, information, help with computors or anything else to make their visit to the Mission pleasant. His energy, initiative and valuable contribution to the success of the Roberts Bank operation are appreciated.
Ben Livingston , Evening Receptionist, Roberts Bank Ben works a weekday evening and is responsible for reception, running the shop and efficiently assisting the seafarers. His quiet but warm hospitality and commitment to service are much appreciated by our visitors.
Kevin Parker, Evening Receptionist, Roberts Bank Also newly joined Kevin works a weekday evening and is also responsible for reception, running the shop, helping with shop requisition orders, and warmly assisting the seafarers.
